Stanley Scooters was Maine’s first new Vespa dealer. A division of Stanley Subaru they originally sold scooters out of the automobile dealership and later built a brand new facility across the street. The new facility contains most of the scooters and accessories (there’s a few in the auto showroom too), Stanley Rowing, and their used and specialty vehicles. Located in Trenton, ME just outside the Ellsworth city limits on Rte. 3 Stanley is poised at the gateway to Mount Desert Island and points Down East. They sell Vespa, Piaggio, and Schwinn motor scooters, as well as E-Go and Schwinn Electric bikes.

On fair weather days driving up to Stanley you are greeted with a line of colorful scoots out front leaving no question as to what they sell. Of course the giant blue Stanley Scooters sign helps too. Inside there is a nice collection of new scoots and gear attractively laid out.

Sales have been reported to be fairly good this year and all the dealerships I have spoken too report that sales of the 50 cc bikes are strongest.

Stanley still had a nice selection of bikes available from the awesome Piaggio MP3 three wheeled scoots through the 50 cc Schwinns.

I enjoyed my brief visit at Stanley Scooters. Very nice people (Thanks Jason it was good talking with you!). They are serious about scooters and it shows. Besides retail sales they offer 50 cc rentals, a full service facility for repairs, accessories and riding apparel, and even used scoots like this little Honda Elite 80 (below). They deliver statewide.
